What you’ll do:
- Proactively partner with the business to understand medium to long term strategic plans, major project pipeline and operational requirements in order to develop and implement Corporation-Wide category and contract strategies to effectively manage the risk of externally sourced goods and services, develop alternate sources of supply, drive commercial benefit and develop the supplier base
- Lead the development implementation and monitoring of category management plans for defined categories, including but not limited to spend analysis, opportunity identification, global/national/local supply market analysis, alliances/panel/partnerships relationships and sourcing strategies.
- In collaboration with business, develop and implement advanced commercial partnership models for program of delivery, and monitor value realisation and supplier relationships
- Guide and oversee the end to end strategic sourcing process including task brief, option / hypothesis development and testing, procurement strategy development, market engagement, evaluation, negotiation of commercial and contractual terms, contract formulation and award.
- Collaborate with the business, lead the development and maintenance of relationships with key suppliers, acting as prime commercial contract management lead on strategic contracts and partnering with strategic suppliers to identify areas of improvement and to drive innovative solutions and ways of working with WaterNSW.
- Assess suppliers’ capability, including safety, environmental and quality accreditations; categorise suppliers within market segments and determine supplier risk scoring in accordance with WaterNSW supplier, risk management and procurement frameworks.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Engineering, Business, Supply Chain) or experience deemed equivalent
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, contract development, supplier management and procurement metrics reporting
- Knowledge of identifying and reporting important supply market developments within the category
- Commercial analysis and pricing strategy development for Construction and related goods & services
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management, specifically in Construction and related goods & services
- Demonstrated experience in partnering with the business to develop effective category and procurement strategies, lead commercial negotiations, manage supplier partnership and support contract management across the lifecycle
- Experience in developing and implementing advanced commercial partnership models for large program of construction delivery
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
