WaterNSW is currently hiring for a Digital/Information Technology Trainee to join our Digital team.
We currently have 1 x position based out of Parramatta available.
This is an opportunity to work with an essential organisation creating a more sustainable future for the state.

Aboriginal Support Network
What you’ll do:
You will complete a Certificate IV in Information Technology qualification over 24 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and the Host Employer (WaterNSW).
This traineeship is your gateway to completing a nationally recognized qualification while gaining invaluable hands-on experience across diverse areas of Information Technology.
A Day In the Life as a Digital/Information Technology Traineewill include:
- Answer phone calls related to incidents and requests.
- Troubleshoot IT issues and provide effective solutions.
- Image laptops and desktops.
- Assist users with walk-up inquiries.
- Manage and decommission hardware devices like laptops and monitors.
- Support various projects and office locations.
- Contribute to a knowledge base and share suggestions in meetings.
We’re looking for motivated individuals with the following qualities and skills:
- Eager to learn and develop skills, with the ability to be open to constructive feedback.
- A proactive mindset, ready to tackle challenges with a positive attitude.
- The ability to follow instructions and adhere to workplace safety procedures.

To be successful, you’ll need to meet the following selection criteria:
- First Nations Targeted opportunity: Applicants must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
- Driver’s Licence P1 or above
- The ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including a medical which involves a Fitness Functional Assessment and Drug and Alcohol screening and a police check.
WaterNSW operates the state’s dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution – for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community. With 41 major dams and hundreds of waterways across the state, we play a vital role at the source of the state’s water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW.
