Electrical Tradesperson - EOI
We are currently inviting expressions of interest for our Electrical Tradesperson positions, set to commence in January/February 2025.
To undertake, in a team environment, high voltage construction, maintenance and inspection activities in substations throughout the Southwest Interconnected Network (SWIN) to maintain the integrity of the network in a safe, reliable, and affordable manner and in accordance with customer requirements and all applicable guidelines and regulations. This will include the application of multiple post trade skills and competencies. This role is based at our Picton Depot in the South West.
These roles are based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Your Role in Action
- Complete allocated construction, maintenance and inspection work to Western Power standards ensuring consistent quality across the network to ensure minimal loss of supply and less disruption to the customer
- Gain meaningful on the job training by working closely with experienced colleagues. Participate in on-the-job training and specialist training provided by equipment manufacturers
- Assist in unplanned events and out of the ordinary situations to keep work on schedule and potential impacts on large customer base
- Participating in pre-job planning to identify risks, hazards and task variables and control measures to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable job completion
- Maintaining and enhancing core electrical trade skills within changing industry standards and business requirements
- Work within a team environment completing work from foundations to fully constructed and maintained substation. This is often in different locations with unique environmental elements, high standard, and work practice requirements
- Undertake assigned tasks in accordance with the ESSR and Work Practices Manual
- Possess an understanding of Western Power’s wiring and documentation practices
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Certificate III Electro-Technology
- WA ‘A’ Grade Electrical Workers License
- Valid WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence to business requirements
- Relevant Network Authorisation including Construction industry white card and Basic Emergency Life Support
- PC Literacy
- Valid High Risk licence class EWP
- Demonstrated industry experience as an Electrical Tradesperson
