About the opportunity

Westgold are sourcing an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to manage environmental activities by Westgold EHS. Reporting to the Manager Environment – Cue, the Senior Environmental Advisor plays an integral role maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements to ensure sustainable mining operations.

This role will be based at our Cue Gold Operations on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth.

The role includes

  • Assisting in the implementation and continual improvement of the site Environmental Management System, including internal, external audits and inspections, training and awareness programs or environmental initiatives
  • Implement site monitoring programs
  • Advise on and facilitate land access for operations, including considerations of tenure, stakeholder consultation and agreement and legal permissions under the relevant Environment and Heritage Acts
  • Building and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement relating to land access, heritage, site permissions or tenure to enable the mine progression/development
  • Develop, implement and oversee progressive land rehabilitation programs

What do I need?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science and/or Management
  • Considerable experience in an environmental role within mining, industry or government
  • Experience working within an environmental specialist team
  • Demonstrated experience preparing compliance reports and approvals documentation for submission to external agencies
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking environmental audits and inspections
  • Participation in environmental initiatives, solutions and advice
