WesTrac is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to work within our Machine Shop Branch, overseeing the Track Shop department.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Workshop Supervisor is responsible for providing guidance and instruction to an on-shift team of 15 trades personnel, apprentices and contractors. Acting as the key point of contact between internal and external customers, you will be accountable for the generation of quotes, ordering parts, coordination of labour, scheduling, invoicing jobs and ensuring the customer's expectations are met while meeting agreed time frames and budget. Promoting continuous improvement and championing a safety-first mentality throughout the workplace is a fundamental component of this role.

Key Attributes:

  • Cert 3 Trade Qualification in: Mechanical Engineering, Fitter & Machining or Mechanical Engineering Fabrication (Boilermaker)
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of welding, machining, and reclamation solutions
  • Proficient with modern safety practices and reporting; Take 5’s/JSA’S/SWIMS
  • Willingness and flexibility to work both dynamically and overtime hours as required to meet job deadlines & competing demands.
  • Strong people management, mentoring and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment check including a full functional medical, D&A + National Police Check
