Join Windlab’s construction team and play a pivotal role in delivering Gawara Baya, leading-practice wind energy project located near Mount Fox, 65km south-west of Ingham, and 180km north-west of Townsville. Gawara Baya will be the first renewable energy project in Australia to be delivered with a robust and measurable program for achieving a net-gain for regional biodiversity. The project will create around 300 construction jobs and inject more than $200 million into the regional economy through local employment, supply and contracting opportunities.
Gawara Baya is an early-transition, large-scale generation opportunity that can be grid connected via existing transmission infrastructure and producing 400MW of low-cost clean energy for Queensland homes and businesses by 2027.
Development of Gawara Baya is nearing the construction phase, with early works underway.
About the Role
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Construction project team, you play a crucial role in steering Windlab projects to ensure they are completed safely, on schedule and within budget. From the late-stage development phase through construction and handover to Asset Management, you will lead a skilled team of professionals in electrical, civil and turbine disciplines. Your role involves coaching and mentoring Project Managers and Construction Managers, fostering their professional growth.
Your responsibilities also include managing design aspects and collaborating with contractors within the split EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) framework.
This role is dynamic, requires expertise in contractor management, health & safety, environment management, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

As an experienced project management professional with a background in large-scale complex renewable energy projects, you recognise the value of collaboration and team dedication. Your proven success in representing the Principle or EPC Contractor highlights your ability to adeptly navigate complex project environments.
Your deep technical knowledge of the electrical industry and proficiency in commercial contract management is one of the key elements to success in this role. Your strategic insight and meticulous attention to detail ensure smooth project execution, even when faced with challenges.
Your exceptional communication skills and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders contribute to project excellence. Whether coordinating with contractors, interacting with regulatory bodies, or building relationships with local communities, your effective communication and consensus-building skills set you apart.

Skills/Experience
- A minimum of 7 years Project Management experience in delivering complex large scale infrastructure projects/multi-million dollar.
- Experience in managing complex major contracts, variation and extension of time claims is essential for this role.
- Ability to build, manage and lead high-performance, outcome-oriented teams
- Comprehensive theoretical and technical knowledge across project management, design management, planning, cost management within the renewable energy sector, ideally Windfarms
- Demonstrated experience in risk management practices
