The AMS Business Line is undergoing a set of major challenges; airspace is becoming increasingly saturated, new regulations are being put in place, UTM is emerging as a new domain to cover, cyber threat, and , in addition, is facing technological breakthroughs coming from new technologies (agile software development, component based architecture, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, Cloud).
The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) BL strategy is based on two major transformations:
The establishment of a new product policy based on a consistent products portfolio addressing the market globally; and
The identification of new Air Traffic Control (ATC) capabilities and Services to support significant growth in our order intake, by completing our traditional ATC offer with new Digital technology and applications and Services
AMS delivers very complex safety and security critical systems, mainly Software based. Projects follow an incremental and parallel development process. Projects involve teams based in Australia, UK, France (Rungis/Toulouse), Portugal and Romania.
For our Melbourne based team at the World Trade Centre we are seeking a Service Engineering Head of Discipline is responsible for discipline strategy and deployment and ensuring that Service Engineering discipline governance is deployed and applied in -their area of responsibility. This role is also responsible for and to support, the professional career development of staff within this discipline.
As a key contributor of competitiveness improvement, the Service Engineering Discipline Head of Discipline ensures deployment of the Service Engineering functional capability, to be applied consistently across AMS, and develops continuous improvement as well as a culture of innovation.
The Head of Discipline Service Engineering key responsivities:
Implement the Service Engineering strategy as part of the overall Engineering Transformation activities. Responsible for the business line Service Engineering transformation strategy definition consistent with Thales group and LAS Service Engineering Lead. Implement the discipline strategy and anticipate discipline evolution in term of methods, technics, practices and skills
Actively contribute to the Engineering discipline governance worldwide across ATC Product directorate, the operational system engineering organisation, derived Services and applicable instructions.
Manage Service engineering teams
Experience required:
Proven experience (10+ years) in management of Service engineering discipline or projects
Significant experience (5+ years) in managing people
Full product and Service lifecycle management, including design for support, system engineering, all ILS elements, qualification and deployment of Support Systems and Services
Working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site and multi-country organisation
Experience with the Safety and security environment and standards
