Our Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Rydalmere. The successful incumbent will be in charge of all allocated projects concerning the Maritime Tactical Wide Area Network (MTWAN), and to ensure the successful delivery of the projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver the key results and performance metrics for the assigned MTWAN projects, including order intake, sales, gross margin and cash.
- Management of a project team including the direct coaching and mentoring of team members
- Creation of the initial Project Plan during the early phase of the lifecycle through requirement capture, work definition, estimating and scheduling
- Project governance over the project delivery activities to ensure project, technical, procurement and support processes are applied and are effective in controlling risks.
- Drive quality, cost and delivery performance through close working with other functions.
- Manage all project stakeholders; ensuring strong communications are established and maintained.
- Ensure that members of the project team are actively managing risks and opportunities.
- Ensure data integrity of all project information including financials and schedule.
- Ensure all project activities undertaken comply with the relevant Thales Chorus processes.
- Ensure a lessons learned process is applied to assigned projects, entailing application of lessons from other projects, and capturing lessons learned on specific projects under your control.
Given the nature of this role an Australian Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1) is required and as a result you will need to be an Australian Citizen to apply.
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience across the following areas:
- Tertiary qualifications in management, technical or engineering discipline or relevant industry experience
- Previous experience in project management
- Proven customer focus with the ability to manage a budget and resources, and produce quality outcomes in assigned timeframes
- Proven track record of delivering successful projects or services in contexts relevant to Thales whilst working in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organisation
- Experience of working across boundaries, including knowledge of commercial management, best practice supply chain and finance functions.
