DevSecOps Lead

The DevSecOps Lead is a senior software engineer responsible for the design, construction, monitoring and maintenance of secure software development systems and associated tools. They present designs to the software leadership for approval and lead technical implementation of the presented designs. The DevSecOps Lead is accountable for software development continuity, efficiency and security.
As DevSecOps Lead, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Collaborate with managers, software leads and developers to understand software development needs and requirements;
- Recommend solutions and construct prototypes to validate proposals;
- Design and build production quality, secure software development environments;
- Author support documents including plans, requirements, design documentation, operating procedures and status reports;
- Mentor other software engineers;

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- A high level of proficiency in applying DevOps practices and techniques to Linux based software development environments;
- Practical experience in applying popular CI/CD tools such as Jenkins;
- Networking knowledge to implement LANs and WANs with physical and virtualised networking equipment;
- Administration experience with software collaboration tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence;
- Experience hardening computer systems and networks;
- Experience creating and managing complex applications of the Jenkins automation server;
- Experience administering git based SCM tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket and github and experience migrating data between them;
- Experience in building mixed Windows and Linux development environments;
- Experience applying security risk management processes to software development systems;
- Experience in applying ISM controls to Linux and Windows computing environments;
- Experience working in defence programs (desirable);
- Hold or be eligible to obtain NV1 Australian Security Clearance; and
- Willingness and ability to travel interstate and internationally when required
