Meet the speakers
Zoey Banks
Head of Talent Attraction & Diversity
Zoey and her team engage critical talent through inclusive Recruitment, Employer Brand marketing and Early Career strategies. Zoey’s a recruitment SME having led internal/ agency recruitment teams as well as designing global RPO models. As our Talent Acquisition diversity ambassador (and female in leadership herself), she’s passionate about driving gender balance and creating opportunities for the underrepresented. She’s also mummy to a 9year old ray of sunshine, a 70kg Great Dane puppy and the world’s oldest cat; her aging rock star hubby sings like an angel and takes the bins out!
Cindy Xin
Chief Engineer
Cindy is a Chief Engineer at CommBank who is passionate about improving code quality, customer experience and accelerating the development of applications. Cindy has a technical background in web/mobile automation, LnP and DevOps. Cindy spent a lot of her career working for eBay & Gumtree in both China and Australia where she was the Head of Security Automation and is now working for CommBank helping us build a best-in-class tech platform.
Marina Sigaeva
Staff Data Engineer
Marina is a fashion, ballet and travel addict who has always been curious about how the world works. After getting her masters in Physics from Lomonosov MSU Marina decided to pursue software engineering as a career. She has been working in tech for 10 years and sees software as huge part of our everyday life – from operating systems of lifts and supermarket self-check-outs to space shuttles and surgical machines. Marina is currently working as a Staff Engineer (Data & Analytics) at CommBank specialising in privacy algorithms, she believes software can improve our life and move towards better and safer tomorrow, and her passion for tech has even led her to write a Scala book for kids!
Melanie Timbrell
Senior Manager Security Awareness
Melanie is a tech and innovation enthusiast who lives in the Blue Mountains raising two small children. She has a Bachelor of Business from UTS and a Masters in Journalism from Charles Sturt University and is currently undertaking post-graduate studies in Computing. Melanie worked as a financial journalist before reskilling into the Cyber Security world. She has been with CommBank for 10 years and now leads the Cyber Security Training and Awareness program, which spans an employee base of more than 40,000 people internationally focused on human cyber risk.
