How will you make an impact in this role?

This 12-month secondment position fits in a team of Finance/Analytics professionals with a diverse background and skillset, united in seeking to continue progressing the use of data and advanced analytics in the Finance team for the purposes of providing deeper and higher-quality business insights and improving the overall financial performance of the company.

With a high level of exposure, the role provides an outstanding opportunity for an analyst who strives to learn, collaborate, innovate, and create a real impact on business decisions and outcomes.

  • Querying large databases and analysing complex data sets to uncover and summarise business insights for presentation to decision makers
  • Support product and investment decisions through data-led insights and recommendations
  • Creating / maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports
  • Contributing to large analytical projects as part of the broader Finance Analytics team, including taking ownership of parts of such projects from concept to launch
  • Collaborating with the broader Finance team and other business partners to advance the vision of the Finance team and the broader business

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience with advanced analytics within a complex data environment, e.g., in a large business
  • Strong expertise with SQL and/or python; ability to understand large relational databases and create complex queries
  • Strong attention to detail; an analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
  • Ability to manage deliverables end-to-end, with an innovative mindset to challenge the status quo
  • Excellent interpersonal / collaboration / teamwork skills
  • Clear and confident communicator; experience synthesizing and communicating complex data, insights and recommendations to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Financial Services e.g. Payments, Banking
  • Experience working in a Finance team; understanding of Finance team terminology, needs & processes
  • Experience with big data environments (Hadoop / Hive / Yellowbrick)
  • Experience with designing and building Tableau dashboards
  • Tertiary qualification in business / commerce / finance / computer science or related field
