We are now seeking an Underground Fitter to join our Maintenance team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the Supervisor: UG Mechanical Maintenance.


This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.


Accountabilities:

  • Carrying out maintenance tasks in the underground area as directed by Maintenance Supervisors,
  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance and ensures that the Values are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintaining UG and in pit dewatering pumping systems, Fuel bays, Primary ventilation, refuge chambers and fixed plant assets underground and in the mining areas.
  • Availability to work a callout roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdowns.

About You

  • A commitment to working safely
  • A relevant Mechanical trade qualification as either a fitter and machinist, automotive or heavy diesel fitter, fitter welder or similar with proven fitting experience.
  • Experience in the maintenance of pumping and ventilation systems or heavy industrial plants preferably with experience in the mining industry.
  • The ability to work underground and in pit locations
  • The ability to work as part of a Multi-skilled Workforce
  • Computer literacy
  • Possession of Mobile crane CN, dogging DG, Rigger basic RB, Elevated work platform WP and Forklift LF high risk work licenses highly regarded
  • Current Confined space entry & Working at heights certificate
  • Current C Class Drivers License
  • Existing working rights in Australia (mandatory)
