About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Change Officer to join our program based at Garden Island, reporting to the Combat System Portfolio Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Act as an integrated member of the Combat Systems Engineering Team, representing the function internally and across the DDG Enterprise, while providing technical and project leadership to Combat Systems engineering activities.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Champion the systems engineering and engineering change processes and the interfaces from the various project teams, ensuring effective completion of activities
  • Work closely with the project design and support teams, enabling the effective development and control of the engineering change activities
  • Participate in engineering systems reviews, readiness reviews and update the program on system maturity, risk and progress
  • Assist and prepare the engineering interface with the production planning phase
  • Capture the impact of the engineering changes through analysis, reporting and active risk management
  • Establish good relationships with various stakeholders and communicate the status of the engineering designs and their readiness for production requirements

About YOU

  • Systems Engineering experience and a good understanding of systems engineering practices
  • A relevant technical qualification and extensive technical experience
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Problem solving skills and an understanding of project management principles
