About the role
As the Procurement Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing end-to-end category strategies for a range of IT goods and services in line with BAC’s strategic objectives.

This role will lead and manage high quality sourcing and vendor selection services predominantly for operational expenses while supporting the wider Procurement function.

Key deliverables associated with this role include developing detailed sourcing and category plans to maximise both commercial and business outcomes across a broad portfolio.

This is a full time (38 hours / week) permanent position based at our Sky Gate Head Office with free parking.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

  • Leading the prioritisation, development and execution of category, supplier, and sourcing strategies to deliver commercial outcomes and business efficiencies.
  • Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract management, performance, and risk management.
  • Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels both internal and external to BAC, including service providers, suppliers, and peer groups.
  • Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within the category and across the broader Procurement function, to improve business performance.
  • Monitor and report on the application of contract management processes and apply strategies to address any identified gaps.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement, the procurement category, and the procurement process, to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions.
  • Assist to develop, implement, and refine a strategic commercial plan and to analyse expenditure requirements and savings opportunities expected from purchasing activities to deliver savings for OPEX and CAPEX spend against the sourcing plan.

Experience and qualifications
Essential

  • Degree qualifications in Business or relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in negotiating and managing contracts, establishing procurement and contract management processes, developing contractual documentation.
Preferred
  • Broad knowledge of airport operations and development

Knowledge & Technical Proficiency

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyse problems and formulate recommendations regarding their solution.
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills.
