In line with CS Energy’s Safety Values, You will be responsible for promoting a culture of safety excellence and wellbeing at CS Energy. You will drive and support the implementation of the CS Energy Safety and Health Strategies in accordance with our frameworks and Queensland legislation.

Reporting to the Business Partner – Health and Safety, you will be a key person in the Health and Safety team to support culture transformation at Callide/Kogan Power Station through to world class safety performance.

While your main role is specific to provide support on Outages & Projects, you'll also provide broader health and safety support as dictated by operational demands.

Duties include the below, but are not limited to:

  • Provide expert health and safety advice for projects and outages to the relevant management in order to achieve and maintain compliance with relevant acts, regulations and standards.
  • Provide expert advice and insight to ensure high standard of construction requirements as required.
  • Provide expert advice and assessment on high-risk work activities and overhaul projects.
  • Execute reporting protocols for the site and monitor both business and people performance to take prompt action by informing site leadership of uncontrolled areas of risk.
  • Support contractor management program to ensure appropriate planning, risk management and monitoring of contractor performance and compliance.
  • Actively be involved in the planning and execution of overhaul projects to ensure team building, alignment and preparation is in place to affect a zero-harm outcome.
  • Implement strategic safety initiatives on site to ensure positive safety culture development.

This permanent, full-time position at Callide Power Station and will require travel to other CS Energy sites, with flexible hours to meet business needs.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in health and safety.
  • Good understanding of Construction legislation and the application of this legislation while working within the CSE processes.
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing effective change management strategies and risk management.
  • Experience in delivering business plans, improvement measurement and gains
  • Highly developed relationship and rapport building skills.
  • Ability to take proactive action to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of organisational safety and risk management processes and execution of those processes.


Highly Desirable:

  • Current training in alcohol and other drug testing
  • A current Senior First Aid Officer certificate
  • Construction Industry Induction – White Card
  • Cert IV TAE Training and Assessing
  • Experience in a similar role (3+ Years) with a safety focus
