The key areas of responsibility of this role include:

• Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
  
• Maintain and operate gas reciprocating engines.
  
• Operate and maintain gas conditioning and associated ancillary plant and equipment.
  
• Operate advanced instrumentation and process control systems.
  
• Perform regular inspection and maintenance of above equipment to a high standard.
  
• Monitor the process to ensure optimum output.
  
• Carry out routine housekeeping duties.
  
• Utilise the Maintenance Management and Quality Assurance Systems as part of the daily functions.
  
• Maintain warehouse and stock inventory.
  
• Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company's employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.
  
• Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required.
  
  The successful candidate will have:
  
• Mechanical Trade qualification
  
• Current Driver's License
  
• Experience in operating and maintaining large reciprocating engines.
  
• First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  
  While it is preferred that a candidate also has the below skills, EDL is willing to provide training in:
  
• Gas Fired Engines, SCADA and communication equipment
  
• Troubleshooting and fault finding
  
• Process Operations in power generation plants
