What is the overall job?
This role will be based at Peterborough City Hospital in a Facilities Management role. Peterborough City Hospital is now regarded as the City's most significant building project since the cathedral was built in 1238. The healthcare campus features: a 612-bed, 22-theatre Major Acute Hospital; a 98-bed Mental Health Unit; a 39-bed City Care Centre; a multi storey car park; helicopter pad; hard and soft landscaping and highway works. You will be based on site with an option for some remote working.
The Team Leader – Electrical will be responsible for maintaining services including Electrical, Mechanical distribution systems, BMS and automation systems, nurse call and fire alarm systems in accordance with all current electrical and mechanical Regulations in the Peterborough City Hospital and associated buildings. Other Key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a multi-skilled tradesman and pass on expert knowledge to other trades staff.
  • Promote a flexible approach and encourage co-operation and versatility of skills.
  • Accept delegate responsibility when necessary to advise and liaise with other hospital departments.
  • Follow the management systems and work order procedures to ensure Multiplex meet all contractual KPI's.
  • Liaise with and assist contractors when required, issuing Permits to Work and all necessary paperwork.
  • Advise, communicate and work with the Statutory Inspectors, contractors on hospital systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
  • Undertake complex fault diagnosis and fault rectification across the Peterborough City Hospital and the associated buildings.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience working as a craftsperson or working in the health sector.
  • Experienced with PC's including MS office applications, Word, Excel, email etc.
  • Previous experience of managing a team.
  • Able to carry out in depth fault finding on complex electrical and mechanical systems
