About the Role

Our Lihir Brisbane operation is now recruiting for a highly experienced, proactive and detailed oriented Senior Analyst – Portfolio Control and Governance to join the Project Management Office (PMO) team based at the Milton, Brisbane Hub Office.

As a valuable member of the PMO team you will be responsible for tracking, analysing and verifying the valuation of Investment Review Papers (IRP) with the business case and driving accurate and high-quality IRP submissions.

Your key accountabilities include:

  • Review IRP and manage submission to commercial/Investment approval team.
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers and support through the gating approval process.
  • Maintain up to date information on the upcoming IRP’s and maintain the calendar.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of consistent governance structures, assurance and quality structures and processes across the minor capital works program.
  • Deliver continuous advice on the internal control framework based on the risk management framework.
  • Support preparation of capital works reporting on the capital works program, quality, governance and controls.
  • Complete regular project health checks on site.
  • Facilitate regular forums with delivery teams to update Coordinate status on the capital works program and track the status of projects.
  • Organise project kick off meetings with relevant Stakeholders once a project has received funding approval.
  • Identification of project benefits as part of business case development activities.
  • Evaluation of project benefits (both financial and non-financial) as part of business case assurance activities.
  • Conduct Benefits data collection and reporting.
  • Review various gate completion reports and provide strategic input and technical advice based on industry/professional knowledge and experience.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with portfolio management policies, processes, and controls.

Essential criteria

  • Broad mining and EPCM experience working as a Senior Analyst with tracking, reviewing, analysing and verifying the valuation of IRP.
  • Demonstrated track record on delivering project objectives and established targets.
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Strong experience with Stakeholder Engagement and dealing with Management at all levels.
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong rapport building, active listening and interpersonal skills.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience leading a team in a diverse cultural environment.
  • Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country is desirable.

  • Must be open to FIFO in PNG
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Must be able to complete a National Police Check
