As our Manager of Governance Assurance & Insights, you'll lead and direct the development and implementation of governance frameworks, policies and procedures, compliance, risk management, assurance activities, financial analysis, performance reporting and evaluation, and data analytics aligned to corporate frameworks.

In this role, you'll build a team of Business Analytics and Quality and Assurance professionals, and work closely with our Corporate Governance team, relevant General Managers, and Managers to embed and provide key insights & drive optimized performance through analytics.

We're looking for someone with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.


The community you will join

Based in Brisbane, your role will sit within Operational Service Delivery (OSD) division. Our OSD division is responsible for delivering Powerlink's state-wide Transmission operations, including 24/7 real time operations, telecommunication services, operational technology (OT), Engineering Support, laboratory services and all field maintenance including project delivery.

Your expertise

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, corporate governance, audit or a related field, or lesser qualification with extensive experience

We’d also love you to have:

  • Professional membership in governance, assurance, insights, finance or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing governance, assurance, performance reporting, financial analysis and insights functions in a complex and dynamic environment
  • High-level knowledge and understanding of governance frameworks, policies and procedures, risk management, compliance, internal audit, performance reporting and evaluation, and data analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and support to senior leadership on governance, assurance and insights matters, including preparing and presenting high-quality reports, briefings and submissions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a high-performing team
  • High level financial and resource management skills, with the ability to manage budgets and resources in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, and the ability to drive and implement change
