As a Telecommunications Engineer, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team - responsible for designs of commercial and operational telecommunication systems and services needed to support the critical Queensland HV transmission network.


You’ll undertake the telecommunications design role on allocated projects, mainly in the areas of multiplexing systems (SDH, PDH, DWDM) , MPLS-TP, fibre optic, protection signalling, microwave, mobile radio and power line carrier.


Part of the role will also see you develop technical scope of works, analyse tenders and manage external design partners, as well as developing design estimates for assigned projects and tasks.

Your expertise

  • You will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunications Engineering and be eligible for Registration with the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Knowledge on PDH, SDH, and DWDM multiplexing systems, fibre optics, microwave and mobile radio, voice systems, protection signalling and power line carrier systems.
  • You will have the demonstrated ability to operate in a design role in the practical application of telecommunications design.

We’d also love you to have:

  • Knowledge and/or qualifications relating to IT infrastructure (IT hardware, routers, LAN/WAN design etc).
