As a Production Technician (Electronic), you will be responsible for the production, test and inspection of electronic and optical equipment, as well as associated test equipment for the Land400 project.

As a Production Technician (Electronic), you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Production of electronic equipment from PCBA to large complex assemblies, performing tests and calibration of assemblies as a part of series production;
  • Fine motor skill work and challenges in daily tasks, performing production and utilizing your SME knowledge while working on occasion with engineering to aid in system improvements;
  • Production and inspection of electrical/electronic test adaptations for military systems, assemblies and printed circuit boards on mission equipment automated test systems, in coordination with the development department;
  • Contribute to the production of test instructions and production instructions and processes;
  • Construct and wire electrical/electronic systems and assemblies;
  • Repair and maintenance of electrical/electronic optics equipment;
  • Cross-departmental support services in the vehicle integration department; and
  • Provide support to internal and external stakeholders where needed.

About your new team

As part of the Electronic Solutions Team at Rheinmetall Defence, The Production Technician (Electronic), reports through to our Mission Equipment Production Technical Supervisor.

The Electronics Solutions team is part of the global integrated team who work closely together to manage the program execution of the LAND 400 Phase 2 Contract with the Commonwealth of Australia, and assist with the capture of export markets in the Asia Pacific region.

The Electronics Solutions team will expand as RDA continues to grow. This role is based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Ipswich.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • The successful completion of a Certificate III or higher as an electronics technician (or equivalent - Avionics qualification highly regarded) with sound professional working experience;
  • Proven experience working within an electronics and or optics (Avionics) maintenance or production environment;
  • Experience in fault localisation in electronic circuits and devices;
  • Professional knowledge in the field of analogue and digital circuit technology;
  • Experience with fine motor skills in PCBA repair, wiring, motors and resolvers, plus other devices and systems;
  • Electronic and optical systems technical knowledge;
  • Ability to travel internationally when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
