I joined Sandvik in 2010 as the Marketing and Communications Officer, after living and working in the UK for several years. At the time, I knew very little about the mining and construction – yet I quickly fell in love with my role, the industry and the company’s core values. I’ve since held a variety of roles and my work has taken me to Sweden, Japan, Korea, India and Copenhagen – which has been amazing. During my years with Sandvik, I also took time off to have my two daughters who are now aged 2 and 4. I feel fortunate that Sandvik continued to support my development during my maternity breaks and also continue to offer much needed flexibility whilst my children are so young. More recently, I’ve been promoted to the role of Sustainable Business, Marketing and Communications Manager and sit on the Executive Management team. We have an extensive sustainability agenda, designed to ensure that our operations and that of our customers’ run in a sustainable way – which makes me really proud!
