We are seeking an impactful Services Pre-Sales Leader to join our passionate services team. As the Services Pre-Sales Leader, you’ll no doubt have a passion and background for all things technical, however you have also come to understand about yourself that you’re business minded and enjoy leading and coaching people.


This role is the backbone of any great commercial and technical delivery operation directly supporting our customers through new and innovative ideas whilst also unlocking opportunities for sustainable growth.

Some of the really important parts:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for all tendering activities for Services in Australia and contribute to the expansion into New Zealand, fostering a high-performance culture within the pre-sales team.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and career development opportunities for the pre-sales team, nurturing leadership and professional growth within the team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Effective and impactful stakeholder negotiation and collaboration for prioritised and efficient customer outcomes.
  • Manage all Services Pre-Sales activities for our diverse portfolio of Global Services offers, including Power MV/LV, Digital Power, Industrial (Drives), Secure Power (UPS/cooling), digital managed Services in line with sustainability goals.
  • Provide timely and professional submissions to enhance our competitiveness in the market.
  • Contribute to the development of pre-sales strategies and play a key role in shaping our services offerings to meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all commercial submissions adhere to regulatory and legal requirements, minimizing the company's exposure to undue liability while maximizing business opportunities.
  • Drive pricing, margin, and profitability optimization for both ongoing service contracts and project-based offers, leading the team in developing innovative and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain performance indicators to track and improve tendering efficiency and effectiveness, guiding the team in achieving and exceeding performance targets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely order bookings and facilitate a seamless handover to the Operations team for successful project implementation, providing mentorship and support to team members in project handover processes.
  • Foster collaboration with other areas of our business to align pre-sales activities with broader company objectives and ensure overall success, building strong cross-functional relationships and promoting a spirit of teamwork.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies and processes, including Contract and Project Policies, to manage risks and identify mitigation opportunities effectively, guiding the team in understanding and implementing compliance measures.
  • Contributing to the expansion and enhancement of our service portfolio, and inspiring the team to seek opportunities for service attachment in customer offerings.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality, timely submissions.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Tertiary engineering or business qualification desirable.
  • Proven experience in a Technical and commercial role, preferably Electrical Engineering background.
  • The ability to read and interpret commercial and contractual conditions, margin and financial requirements,
  • Solid technical and writing skills.
  • Experience in change management and leadership is preferable.
  • High level of organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Problem solving
  • Experience in leading diverse team
