The Opportunity
The TasWater Summer Placement Program is a 12-week program where students gain exposure and work experience in the unique water and wastewater industry.
We have multiple Information Technology, Data Science and Spatial Science positions for the 2023 program that runs from 13 November 2023 to 9 February 2024 in Hobart and Launceston.
There are a wide range of exciting projects and teams to work in. You may be analysing a range of data sets, working with our PI Historian system, addressing cyber security risks, or performing GIS or surveying tasks. You'll have a dedicated mentor and make invaluable industry contacts.

Mohammad Hamedi, Graduate
I'm a graduate working with the Data & Analytics team at
TasWater. I started as a part of the 2021-2022 Summer Placement Program and
continued to work while completing my degree.
Now, I'm thrilled to be part of the 2023 Graduate Program,
the largest cohort yet, with eleven Graduate positions. My time at TasWater has been invaluable, with exceptional
support and mentorship. It's not just complemented my studies but set the stage
for my career.

Your Application
To be eligible for the program, you must:
- Be a current student in your second to last year of study in an IT, Data Science, or Spatial Science qualification (undergraduate and Masters students are eligible for this program).
- Be able to work from 13 November 2023 to 9 February 2024 in Tasmania, and;
- Have working rights in Australia for this period.
