About the role

As the Signal Maintenance Technician, you are integral to the success of V/Line's Asset Management - Maintenance Group.

The responsibility of the Signal Maintenance Technician position is to provide reactive and preventative maintenance of signalling equipment and systems along the CBD to Sunshine lines. Assisting regional work may be required as necessary.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Maintain and install signalling and communications equipment.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks in accordance with the technical maintenance plan (TMP) and servicing schedules.
  • Attend fault rectification tasks and investigate and report on incidents associated with the performance of signalling equipment and systems.
  • Work in conjunction with standardised signalling practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Enter task completion reports to the maintenance management system.
  • There will be the occasional requirement to work away, travel to other locations, and overtime on an as-required basis.

  • Cert IV in Rail and Tram Signalling Systems - Essential
  • Current Driver's Licence - Essential
  • Have strong communication, safety-focused, and be a positive team player.
  • Strong Fault finding, problem-solving and diagnostics skills.
  • The willingness to a rotating shift roster with some overtime and away work when required.
