About the role

V/Line is experiencing a period of growth and as a result the Plant Maintenance Team apart of the Network Development Asset and Maintenance team have an opportunity to have an experienced qualified Mobile Plant and Equipment Fitter join the team.

The role is both workshop and or field based on business requirements where you will be responsible for the maintenance of V/Line's plant and equipment, you will be a part of a medium sized team comprising of varied positions.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Responsible for the prioritising, programming and performing maintenance and repair tasks on plant and vehicles used by Gangs throughout the State of Victoria.
  • Troubleshoot problems and recurring Faults. Arranging modifications to plant in consultation with the Plant Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Inspect, maintain and adjust plant and vehicles regularly in accordance with established guidelines and recommend maintenance strategies.
  • Certify plant is fit for the use following servicing and repairs.
  • Ensure quality and safety instructions are complied with.

About you

  • The current team is made up of motivated experienced mobile plant and equipment fitters, schedulers, and engineers.
  • As one of the Plant and Equipment maintenance fitter, you may be required to work night shift as needed.
  • Motivation is essential, there will be times where you will be required to work alone

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Previous industry experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and good knowledge of low voltage electrical circuits and components
  • Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Maintenance Fitter is essential.
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems is required, we use JDE.
