We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Risk & Valuation Analyst on a Full-Time permanent basis.


About this role

As the Credit Risk & Valuation Analyst you will be required to support the delivery of the medium to long term financial direction for Western Power consistent with our strategic direction. You will provide business information, risk and valuation analysis requirements and manage internal relationships. This position also requires assisting in preparing economic/financial research and analysis for use in the development of business operational strategies, provide experience and expertise to support risk positioning, financial risk management and all other relevant credit management objectives.

This role requires you to:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial statement and assessments of credit requests including new requests, change requests, refinancing and annual due diligence.
  • Present analysis, findings, and recommendations including findings involving a customer’s ability to pay.
  • Provide recommendations tied to analysis and assessment of credit risks, governed by established practices, procedures, and policies that ensuring adherence to Western Power’s credit risk standard and financial risk – forms of security guideline.
  • Maintain and monitor Western Power’s list of securities held. Process release of these securities as required.
  • Provide and respond to business’s requests for credit and valuation information and related reporting requirements.
  • Support and assist the Accounting, Tax & Credit Team Leader to work together with other internal stakeholders as an integral part of a professional team.
  • Support and assist accounting and tax related work as required – e.g., journals, general ledger reconciliations, monthly reporting, audit processes, tax related tasks, recognition of fixed assets including capitalisation, disposal and transfer of assets etc.
  • Contribute to and support enterprise risk management.
  • Assists and support the safety, health, environmental and community programs.


About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or equivalent discipline
  • Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent membership
  • An experienced professional with 4-5 years sound general knowledge within a financial or commercial environment or related area requiring a sound understanding of diverse practices and principles.
  • 2-5 years of strong credit risk analysis and credit management experience in a commercial environment
  • Demonstrated business acumen, comprehensive analytical skills and exposure to risk management and governance processes.
  • Advanced understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts
  • Strong organisation and time management abilities to manage several priorities.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed, result and solution focus partner with attention to details and problem-solving skills.
