Job title: Senior Ship Services Technician

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Up to £41,000 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operate Safe Systems of Work that comply with Company Processes and procedures on SHE to ensure the safety of all staff
  • Supervise as directed, low level maintenance and equipment keep alive as required by contract specification
  • To act as authorised person for Confined Space / High Voltage
  • To deputies for Ship Services Team Managers in their absence
  • Maintain positive relationships with Ship’s Staff, Projects and Customers
  • To be available for shift working as required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience in managing a team
  • Experience in Maritime / Oil and Gas industry safe systems of work
  • Good team player / leadership qualifications, needs to be flexible and have good communication skills

Desirable:

  • Previously served in Royal Navy or Merchant/Oil & Gas industry
  • Ability to operate in a pressurised environment.

The Ship Services team:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Ship Services team, A unique team working across all types of vessels currently being used within the Royal Navy. No two days will be the same in this role! You will be working on Type 45 Destroyers, Minesweepers and Aircraft Carriers in the Portsmouth Naval Base. This is also a great opportunity for the development of existing experiences and skillsets, with the chance of progression later on down the line.
