Job Title: Engineering Manager for Hardware

Location: Rochester - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE

What you’ll be doing:

Development of fit for purpose processes, improving the engineering craft; informed through learning from experience, improving things we do, removing waste, errors and delays

Providing input into electronics hardware design strategies to improve cost, schedule and quality; providing electronics hardware design engineering functional expertise by supporting project execution, ensuring that best practice is captured and deployed

Conducting PDRs, talent development, compensation and performance management processes

Performing resource forecasting; maintaining future resource projections and taking actions to ensure resource needs are met including recruitment of new hires through the interview and offer process for experienced engineers and graduates

Generating, reviewing and approving functional estimates and development strategies for input into the Technical Bid Review process supported through the collection and analysis of metrics / productivity to inform future bid activities

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

Engineering/ Hardware development lifecycle execution experience, managing large teams or teams of teams

Demonstrable leadership skills

Proven ability to work with the detail and be able to brief at a summary level

Qualification to Degree in an engineering related discipline or HNC with suitable experience

The Engineering team:

As an Engineering Manager in one of the world's leading defence, security and aerospace companies, you will play a key part in managing electronics hardware design teams enabling the development and supply of products across a diverse mix of commercial and military platforms; Head Up and Head Worn Displays, Safety Critical Pilot Control and Flight Control Systems.
