Job Description

This is a 3 month Fixed Term Contract with an immediate start

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Temporary Financial Accountant to assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with FRS 102. This role will be temporary, with a specific duration based on business needs.

Current working pattern for the team is 3 days remote with Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the office.

Core elements of the role

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements using IRIS Accounts Production, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 guidelines.

  • Adjustments and Reconciliations: Prepare an extended trial balance for each set of financial statements to reconcile between the financial statements and GL data.

  • Disclosure Notes: Draft disclosure notes related to accounting policies, significant accounting estimates, and other relevant information.

  • Commentary: Prepare commentary for the directors on key movements in financial statements

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other finance team members and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist with other finance-related tasks as needed during the temporary assignment.

Qualifications

Qualifications and experience

  • Accounting Qualification: A recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or part qualification is preferred.

  • Experience: Prior experience in financial statement preparation under FRS 102.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with IRIS Accounts production is desirable.
