Your New Role...

The Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) Senior Manager International Procurement is responsible for leading and managing the production category within International. This role is a pivotal role that will require the individual to work closely with Procurement team members in the Global Content Supply Chain Category and stakeholders in individual businesses responsible for production within International. Key production areas include films, TV and sports and covers key geographies of UK, Poland and New Zealand where we have on site teams along with other international geographies where on location production occurs.

Initially the role will require the individual to map out the production landscape across International to gain a full understanding of the unique properties of each production area. They will be required to work closely with the Global Content Supply Chain Category Lead to feed into the Global strategy and execute locally against the finalised strategy.

They will be expected to build a plan that supports the business and creates additional value in terms of savings, efficiencies, policy compliance and risk mitigation. Production for this role includes physical production, production finance / accounting, and post-production categories. The Senior Manager International Procurement will report into the VP International with a dotted line into the VP Content Supply Chain.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Builds a strong understanding of strategic business direction, objectives, requirements and priorities across all categories.

  • Effectively works with functional and business groups as a trusted advisor to identify sourcing opportunities, develop and implement sourcing strategies across WBD to deliver against business objectives.

  • Compiles and synthesizes both business requirements and external market conditions to develop optimal category strategy with full understanding of potential shortfalls and risk mitigation plans.

  • Develops and assembles required Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) to facilitate development of sourcing strategy.

  • Leads the entire Request for Proposal (RFP) process which includes leading cross-functional teams in selecting partners to facilitate real estate related requirements.

  • Analyses market/category trends and historical spending patterns to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and (re)negotiations.

  • Partners with Supplier Diversity efforts to creatively include diverse vendors in supplier selection processes and creatively grow existing diverse vendor spend.

  • Leads environmentally friendly purchase efforts to support Warner Bros. Discovery’s sustainability efforts.

  • Has the necessary business acumen to be thoroughly conversant in the intent and rationale behind contract provisions from a business as well as legal perspective, and acts as a liaison between the contracting entities, legal groups, and other parties as necessary.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • The individual needs to have experience of establishing a procurement presence in a greenfield environment and have an inquisitive and business focussed mind set to build relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Breaks paradigms to look at financial/analytical problems in new ways.

  • Proven strategy, operations, and sourcing experience in a sophisticated sourcing environment with demonstrated people management experience.

  • Proven project management experience, excellent communication skills, ability to analyse and resolve complex issues and a team building work style for a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in working in a large, global, decentralised and matrixed organization.

  • Strong supplier management/performance measurement monitoring experience.

  • Advanced analytical skills and demonstrated application of category-specific best practices.

  • Able to conceive, comprehend, analyse, translate and apply complex business strategies/practices/requirements into RFXs & analytical/financial models.
