Your New Role…

As Paralegal, reporting to the VP Legal, Employment, you will provide paralegal support to the employment legal team.

Production Employment Legal, EMEA & APAC

  • Providing support to VP Legal, Employment in dealing with employment law issues on Film and Television productions (from appointment to termination and everything in between) involving employees, the self-employed and individuals supplied via loan out arrangements.

  • Assisting with the drafting and maintenance of international polices and workplace contracts for Film and TV production.

  • Liaising with other policy and contract stakeholders as necessary including Production P&C, Production Legal team, the EMEA Employment Legal team, the Production Employment Legal team in the US and the WBD Ethics & Compliance team.

Employment Legal EMEA (non-Production)

  • Providing general paralegal support to employment lawyers primarily based in the UK on a variety of matters. May be some work with lawyers in Europe.

  • Help co ordinating and collating advice for multi-jurisdictional projects and policy roll outs.

  • Working with Company Secretarial team to ensure appropriate paperwork/central record keeping with director/officer changes.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Employment law research in support of ongoing matters.

  • Updates/case reports to the UK employment legal team on developments in employment law.

  • Working with People Relations and P&C teams on workplace investigations and other employee relations matters.

  • Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, with support from the team.

  • Working with external counsel in the UK and EMEA region, including support with billing and other onboarding tasks.

  • Providing day-to-day administrative assistance (including filing in a central legal directory, and chasing up contracts/outstanding matters, where appropriate)

  • Assisting with such other Employment Legal projects, as required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Law degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Previous paralegal experience (media paralegal experience preferable)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to work effectively at all levels within the company.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail essential.

  • Professional proficiency in other European languages a bonus but not essential.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
