Atlassian is looking for an experienced software engineer to join our Messaging & Targeting team. In our team, you'll be tasked with building extensible data platforms that provide business stakeholders with audience building, targeting and personalization capabilities. We are looking for developers who love frameworks, tools and technologies to solve thorny business problems by partnering with engineering teams and building platform features.
Qualifications:
- MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- 4+ years of experience in designing and building a production-level data or web application.
- Experience in building frontend and backend web applications from the ground up using modern technologies – from gathering requirements, design, build, deploy, and ownership.
- Good experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, Rest APIs, AWS, Docker, SQL, Microservices
- Front-end development experience with expert knowledge of technologies like HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, ReactJS, Angular, etc.
- Strong quality mindset and proven experience with testing practices and philosophy.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership skills to plan and work towards the team's long term goals and roadmaps
Preferred:
- Experience with a scripting language such as Python/Shell in a Linux environment.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g. Git, Maven, Gradle, Bamboo, Jenkins)
- Ability to explain and present details to both technical and business audiences.
- Proven ability to drive cross-team technical discussions and decision making.
- Experience working with data management and MarTech platforms
- A strong DevOps background

The team you're going to join is spread across Bay Area & Bengaluru. Messaging & Targeting is a team of innovators and problem-solvers, with the autonomy and skills to make an impact. Our primary goal is to Protect the customer experience by providing visibility and coordination across all Messaging channels. We are currently building audience management, targeting and personalization capabilities to empower teams in Atlassian to deliver product and marketing customer experience with speed and quality. As a senior engineer on the team, you would be addressing the toughest challenges in our development pipeline as we modernize our products. Compensation:
At Atlassian, we tie our base pay ranges to role and level. In the United States, that means your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. Our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $130,800 - $200,700
Zone B: $117,700 - $180,600
Zone C: $108,600 - $166,600
Within each range, base pay is ultimately determined based on your skills, expertise, and experience. This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and/or equity.
