Head of Design - Transformations and Platform

Atlassian is seeking a Head of Design for who will support our Transformations & Platform teams (TAP). Cloud transformation is our #1 priority as a company, and in this role you will partner directly with Heads of Product, Engineering and other functions, to leverage the ability of design to clarify and translate on an exciting journey towards our cloud future.

Reporting into our SVP of Design, you will bring a balance of craft expertise, executive communication skills, org leadership and business acumen. This skill-set will enable you to help us go cloud-first, build deeper partnerships with enterprise customers, and build out our thriving 2nd & 3rd party ecosystem.

You will lead a team that is passionate about delivering Design which scales to meet the needs of our hundreds of thousands of customers.

  • More than ten years experience in executive/senior Design Leadership roles

  • A track record of planning and then driving business direction autonomously as a hands-on designer, then subsequently as a manager, and then manager of managers

  • Maintain an area of core strength in one or more Design disciplines where you can lead through your expertise

  • Have identified and set platform strategies, and seen them through to impact

  • Can communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organisation

  • Ability to manage a broad portfolio, balancing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

  • You have influenced, defined, and implemented company-wide design strategy

  • A demonstrated capability to understand the technical underpinnings of software products

  • Can create positive cross- collaboration history with stakeholders, like Engineering, Product Management and Research

  • Have proven experience developing and maintaining healthy, productive teams

  • Have experience improving and sustaining design rituals at the org level

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $307,800 - $400,000

Zone B: $307,800 - $400,000

Zone C: $307,800 - $400,000

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
