Senior Quantitative User Experience Researcher
Expedia Group is looking for a quantitative user experience researcher who can help us measure our lodging supply partner experiences with best-in-class tools and leverage our data to add value and extend partner reach across devices and platforms, in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As a Senior User Researcher, you will work with designers, analysts, product managers, and engineers to measure attitudes, experiences, and interactions across Expedia Group’s partner tools. You will use quantitative research techniques, such as survey development and distribution, experimental design, statistics, and should have a working knowledge of psychometrics. You will collaborate with business partners and design teams to outline research plans, execute research, consolidate findings, and present meaningful insights. We also seek someone with a creative streak, a love for science, and the desire and skills to deliver quickly. What you'll do:
Work closely with product, design, and partner advocacy teams to identify and prioritize research topics according to schedule and opportunity constraints
Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, while advocating for the partners who use our tools and products
Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research, with an emphasis on surveys
Design studies that address both user behavior and attitudes
Design quantitative research that complements qualitative research
Be able to work independently and autonomously, especially by estimating work effort and defining what you need to deliver
Effectively manage and prioritize research plans through ambiguous and fast-changing environments, align and efficiently execute critical insights and work with a large group of stakeholders
Translate research findings and data into a concise, meaningful story for design and product teams
Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content design, engineering and marketing
Generate insights that evaluate experiences and steer product and design road maps
Who you are:
Minimum 4 years professional experience, with proven success working with product teams and UX designers on software interfaces
Bachelor' in Social Sciences, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology or related fiel or equivalent related professional experience (advanced degree a plus)
Deep practical experience with quantitative research methods, writing study plans, experimentation protocol, and metrics
A power user of one or more statistical analysis tools—R required; SQL, Python a plus
Data-driven storyteller and visualizer; excellent written and spoken communication skills
Experience working firsthand with UX design and software product teams
Strong organizational skills; comfortable acting independently and context switching
A thirst for constant growth and improvement both for yourself and our products
Familiar with Agile development methodologies
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $161,500 to $226,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $258,500, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
