The Meta Marketing Technology Team is looking for a passionate Software Development Engineer II to join our team. This individual will work closely with the Bidding Operations and Data Science Teams, comprised of 30+ engineers and data scientists who are focused on solving ambitious marketing problems through data science and machine learning techniques to enable EG to be aggressive in the Meta Marketing space through optimization of the auction parameters. This is a high visibility team and the work done by the team directly impacts the conversion metrics for EG.
What you’ll do:
You will work in a cross-functional team of Data and Machine Learning engineers to design and code large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines in AWS
You will make recommendations for leveraging emerging technologies and machine learning/software design patterns
You will work with cloud-based architecture and utilize best practices
You will be able to troubleshoot issues within a suite of Machine Learning platforms and tools
You will successfully conduct day-to-day work and solve complex issues in your own specific technical engineering area
You will possess knowledge of features and facilities for integration, and communication among applications, databases and technology platforms to bring together different components and form a fully functional solution to a business problem
You will research and recommend frameworks and architectural/code design patterns
You will take a whole systems approach to analyze issues and implement holistic solutions by ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process and technology are made
You can spot outmoded methods of operation with current systems and design plans for disrupting them in a non-disruptive manner
You will report on status of difficult or high-level projects to local tech leadership via written or oral means
You will ensure documentation is complete
Who you are:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
Experience working in at least 2 multi-quarter projects as a part of a decentralized team and project
Efficient and skilled use of Python, as well as demonstrated strength with a variety of other programming and markup languages
Developed software in a team environment of at least 5 engineers (agile, version control, etc.)
Built and maintained a software project/product in production environments in cloud infrastructure
Experience with PySpark/Airflow
Previous experience working with scikit/Tensorflow/PyTorch would be advantageous
You have hands-on experience with OOAD, design patterns, SQL and NoSQL
You are familiar with more than one data stores or API access patterns and Big Data applications such as Hive, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, DataBricks, Kedro, Dremio, Tableau, etc
You can test and monitor your own code and understand testing and monitoring tools
An intuition for different approaches for model training, parameters to use, optimization approach, etc. would be advantageous
Ability to identify business problems at the project level and team level and design solutions that are easily testable and observable
Able to justify technology choices to technical and non-technical observers making well defined technology choices
Ability to identify and advocate for project quality via testing, monitoring and alerting at the project level

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
