Senior Technical Program Manager

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead a portfolio of programs within the Enterprise Data Management and Governance (EDMG) team from inception to adoption. You will utilize your deepunderstanding of Data Quality and Governanceto ask strategic questions that help clarify and guide our teams through priorities and decision-making. You will strive for continuous improvement and find new innovative ways to increase execution efficiencies by being flexible and creating scalable frameworks. We believe in building world-class, high quality products for our customers that they love to use. You will be key to achieving this through close collaboration with senior leaders across product and engineering. Your ability to act with autonomous initiative is essential as you navigate partnerships with teams across the company and around the world.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and drive a portfolio of programs with Enterprise Data Management and Governance

  • Recommend and establish best execution and delivery processes and framework and collaborate with the teams on adoption of the framework

  • Lead all aspects of program management – Quarterly planning, Sprint Planning, setting measurable goals, progress tracking, issue resolution, dependency tracking, reporting and all program communication

  • Develop project schedules, define timeframes, and prioritize tasks to deliver intended objectives within the agreed timeframes and ensuring that requirements are completed

  • Partner with Product management and assist them in defining roadmaps, focus areas and prioritization

  • Identify appropriate agile engineering practices and mentor others on Agile ceremonies

  • Lead proactive identification and mitigation of issues and risks.Leverages experience to raise questions, anticipaterisks in advance of impacts

  • Partner with the business to ensure a connection to overarching strategy and program and ensures prioritization is in line with the larger program strategy

  • Facilitate relationships between teams, move initiatives forward, find resources, raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues that prevent progress

  • Hold people accountable when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships in difficult situations

  • Design differentiated technical communications for various internal and external customers based on an understanding of their differing levels of familiarity with technical language

  • Be an evangelist and own communication on program execution and delivery

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field; or Equivalent related professional experience  

  • 10 years of Program/Project Management experience in a high-tech company

  • Previous experience leading Data Quality, Data Management & Governance programs at scale

  • Solid understanding of Data Management & Governance areas – Data Quality, Data Observability, Metadata Management, Governance and Change Management

  • Demonstrated experience building effective project/program plans and managing development processes, business stakeholders, engineering, and functional teams during execution

  • Extensive experience managing large scale, big corporate level initiatives working with senior executives

  • Successful track record of developing and implementing a wide variety of frameworks and operating models

  • Passion for excellence in execution and mastery in developing efficient frameworks

  • High level of initiative and strong bias to action. You are able to find a path and get things done

  • Positive relationship builder able to navigate through situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution

  • Exceptional collaboration, business insight, and customer advocacy skills

  • Very organized and innately curious and skilled at zeroing in on the detail and uncovering issues but able to step back and clearly see the big picture

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to business partners and executive leadership

  • Inspiring leader, confident and successful at influencing team members and leaders across Expedia Group

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
