In this role, you will bring skills in critical thinking, detailed analyses, business case development, and executive storytelling to help us solve the next generation of online travel challenges.
Building on two decades of experience in the travel advertising space, Expedia is on a path to become the world’s leading Travel Media Network for its advertising partners. Core to achieving this vision is the Media Solutions (MeSo) advertising platform and product suite. From TravelAds to Flights Sponsored Listings to offsite offerings, MeSo’s ever-increasing focus on machine learning, automation, and identity is giving advertisers new tools to navigate the complexity of the travel sector and reach travelers with the right advertising at the right time.
Sitting within the Product & Technology organization, this role serves as a critical thought partner tothe MeSoproduct team(part of the Partner Products division), collaborating to set objectives and priorities, including product direction, investment tradeoffs, progress reporting, competitive analysis, and long-term planning.
You will play a key role in defining and leading company-wide strategic projects while collaborating across divisions with senior members of Product, Technology, Account Management, and Finance teams. We will help you grow as a problem solver, relationship builder, and communicator with skills to drive projects successfully across a broad range of topics and personalities.
What you'll do:
Work as part of a team of strategists embedded with product owners, engineers, designers, and architects
Help craft and deliver product strategies from ideation through implementation using data, imagination, and understanding of customer experience, industry, and e-commerce
Lead strategic projects and investigations to drive the business forward across technology, process, and people
Establish and cultivate relationships with key internal cross-functional partners
Partner with product leads, finance, analytics, and commercial teams to define independent and joint metrics and targets
Track highest priority initiatives through OKRs QoQ, ensuring line of sight to commercial realization across teams
Serve as a connector to product and strategy teams up and down the stack to ensure end-to-end alignment
Work closely with product leads to translate product visions to prioritized roadmaps, balancing multiple stakeholder perspectives
In partnership with finance and planning, help allocate resources appropriately against key initiatives and estimate financial benefit & returns.
Frame strategic tradeoffs both orally and in writing, while considering inputs from others - especially differing viewpoints
Drive decision-making and alignment by working directly with senior leadership across Expedia Group
Collaborate with product leads and product marketing to enable successful GTM launches
Closely track advertising and e-commerce trends to inform long-term product strategy
Who you are:
You are a collaborator who actively promotes & encourages diversity of thought
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or a related technical field preferred or equivalent related professional experience; MBA is a plus
5+ years in consulting, product management, or corporate strategy
Experience developing and implementing advertising/media product strategies in a large e-commerce organization, advertising agency, or consulting firm a plus
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
A demonstrated record of independently defining and conducting key analyses with light oversight
Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate issues, including experience communicating complex information to senior leaders
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $155,000.00 to $217,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $248,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
