The Quality Centre of Excellence tech team is responsible for creating the best tools/frameworks and solutions to meet Expedia Group’s Software Quality goals and keep our customers happy.

In the Quality Centre of Excellence team, we work tirelessly to improve the QCE Platform by creating necessary tools, frameworks and solutions required to keep our software releases defect free on a continuous basis. Solutions including Test Data Enrichment, Automation Frameworks, AWS/DevOps work, AI/ML based products, Data Quality, Test Environment Stability, etc.

What you will do:

  • Extend outside of direct organization and collaborate with peers across a senior level organization

  • Identify problems impacting developer productivity, find solution, solutionize it, productionize it, own it, evangelize it and make everyone use it. This could be solving Test Data, Test Environment, Test Inventory and other challenges in this area using technology.

  • Successfully conduct day-to-day work and solve complex issues in your own specific technical engineering area.

  • Share domain and industry knowledge between cross-functional teams

  • Serve as a guide to others by sharing and helping junior associates in their duties.

  • Creatively test and maintain software applications and related programs and procedures by using a variety of software development tools
    following design requirements of customer.

  • Research and recommend frameworks and architectural/code design patterns

  • Advocate for Quality Excellence (such as unit testing, establishing SLAs, programming for resiliency and scalability)

  • Facilitate collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issues
    Innovation

  • Spot outmoded methods of operation with current systems and
    design plans for disrupting them in a non-disruptive manner

  • Report on status of difficult or high-level projects to local tech leadership via written or oral means. Ensure documentation is complete

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science with 7+ years; or Equivalent related professional experience

  • Experience working in at least in 2 multi-quarter projects as a part of a decentralized team and project

  • Experience formally mentoring at least 3 individuals and driving technical design end to end for at least 3 projects.

  • Experience contributing to engineering community through a blog post, open-source contribution, tech talks etc

  • Ability to identify business problems at the project level and team level and design solutions that are easily testable and observable

  • Strong understanding of how team goals fit a business need

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
