Position Overview
Performs laboratory tests to assess conformance of new and existing products to engineering, marketing, industry and customer specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities
Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as pressure testing apparatus, tensile testing apparatus, gas flow measurement apparatus, Thermal Chamber, and other equipment.
Conducts testing of natural gas distribution products in accordance with ASTM Standard Specifications, Test Methods, and other requirements.
Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used.
Supports engineering in the design of test experiments in support of design development, change initiatives; assists in product failure analysis, and production support.
Prepares graphs and charts and written analysis of testing results.
Keeps Lab orderly with tools and equipment cleaned and in proper place.
Calibrates laboratory instruments.
Assists in the design and building of fixtures required to conduct laboratory testing and experiments.
Assists in the design and building of new test equipment as needed to facilitate required testing.
Performs measurement and inspection in support of F.A.I. reports.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or equivalent from four-year College or University; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate in Spanish is beneficial, but not required.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of software, Lab View Data Acquisition software and systems; exhibit some working knowledge of Solidworks, 3D Modeling, ANSI Y 14.5, AutoCad design software, PLC programing.
