A Day In The Life

  • MIG welding on steel (a mix of open table and fixture)
  • This position requires welding of steel products and familiarity with MIG welding process.
  • This position requires a basic knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Perform all position welding on a diversified line of standard weldments and structures in accordance with code certifications, alignments, dimensional and general inspection requirements.
  • Fit and position weldments for several parts, use welding fixtures and jigs where applicable.
  • Methods are usually prescribed or standardized but welders may select and vary techniques within the limits of recognized procedures.
  • Perform daily upkeep and routine maintenance, keeping equipment and production area in good working order.
  • Comply with and support all aspects of the company’s quality management program.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multi-task as needed.
  • Knowledge of proper use of safety equipment, i.e., safety glasses, ear plugs, and work boots where necessary.

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Ability to move about the facility moving product.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • General knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • General knowledge of basic welding operations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
