Job Overview

The Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) will lead production processes, while supervising hourly employees and pursuing continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include: staffing, training, operations, inventory management, implementation of safety, product quality, housekeeping, and customer service.

A Day In The Life

  • Lead teams that are focused on the primary purposes of daily operation through safety, quality, service, and productivity levels within budgetary guidelines
  • Direct lead persons to guide, direct, and assign work to their fellow employees and maintain records as necessary
  • Ensure hourly workforce is flexible and properly trained
  • Must handle the interpersonal aspect of the job including disciplinary activity, coordination with other supervisors, work rule enforcement, and labor relations
  • Maintenance of data and reports related to the supervised area using Microsoft applications such as Excel and Access

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or operations preferred, or comparable job experience.
  • A minimum of (5) years of manufacturing supervisor experience
  • Computer skills including: Intermediate skills in MS Excel such as creating graphs and charts. Intermediate skills in MS Word such as using tables, columns and breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar. Intermediate skills in MS Power Point.
  • Ideal candidate will have two or more years of user experience in SAP
  • Working knowledge of the distribution industry including industrial equipment operation, picking, packing, and receiving put-away methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Experience with Lean methodologies is a plus.
