Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical and remote/virtual premium audits
  • Examines/audits records to ensure that calculations of earned premium for risks are accurate
  • Reviews results of audits with producers, underwriters, insureds, and Premium Audit leadership
    • Identifies opportunities to resolve discrepancies
    • Serves as initial audit dispute review and actively works to resolve disputed items
    • Manages and clears bureau inquiries
  • Provides effective customer service throughout the life cycle of Premium Audit functions
  • Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to jurisdictions and ensures correct and consistent application
  • Assigns audits to vendors and monitor the quality and timeliness of the vendor's work
  • Communicate with vendors regarding delinquent audits. Prepare management reports and other analysis to ensure the quality and timeliness of audits
  • Reconcile invoices from vendors
  • Provides guidance and assistance to lower-level positions
  • May assist in providing internal training to other departments
  • May assist in training/mentoring new employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Generally, 3-6 years of related experience
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Associates in Premium Audit (APA)
    • Excellent written and verbal skills
    • Effective time management skills
    • Superior organizational and critical thinking skills
    • Exemplary knowledge of NCCI and ISO manual rules and application
    • Familiarity with audits and classification procedures in test audit states
    • Strong knowledge of Excel
