Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

This person must be able to construct prototype parts and tooling with little direct supervision.

Experience must include manual mill, lathe, and surface grinders as well as CNC mills. Proficiency in the operation of Wire EDM and CNC lathes is also desired.

What your background should look like:

  • Uses machining skills to construct prototype parts, fixtures, and other tooling as required.
  • Read and understand blueprints and CAD models as required to create and build new fixtures, tooling, and machined parts.
  • Use Mastercam software to create and toolpath CAD models.
  • Able to learn how to use all equipment in the Model Shop.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate all machining equipment safely and accurately.
  • Thorough understanding of metallurgical properties and heat treatment of steel.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group with engineers and other toolmakers.
  • Proficient with Mastercam software.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $56,800-$85,200(subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
