Job Overview

As ​an Intern​ in the ​Aerospace Defense & Marine​ Business Unit, you will:

  • Optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers, or other employees.
  • Maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies.
  • Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CAD/solid modeling software to develop product concepts.
  • Work with and create product documentation including drawings, product and application specifications, tolerance analysis, and test plans & reports.
  • Review customer drawings, identify and develop bill of materials, gather necessary cost inputs for RFQs submitted to customers.
  • Initiation of Engineering Changes to improve designs, improve manufacturing, or respond to changes requested by the customer.
  • Develop communication skills while working with cross-functional product launch teams.

You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:

  • Have Received a High School Diploma or GED
  • Are currently enrolled in a program or pursuing a ​BA/BS​ Degree in ​Mechanical Engineering,​ from ​a​n accredited college or university or have equivalent work history. (In certain circumstances, students who are taking a gap year will be considered.)
  • Have previous internship or large project experience is preferred
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $18.20 to $38.64/hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

TE has a robust internship program that provides our interns with an abundance of resources to feel included as part of our Team. Every summer we coordinate various educational and networking events for our interns. The TE University Relations team will be hosting virtual meetups, information sessions, tours, skill building presentations, and topping it off with National Intern Day celebration activities.

Mentors serve as a guide to navigate the organization and provide additional support in their career endeavors at the company. Our program provides a holistic experience for interns that targets professional development and personal growth.

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10–12-week program, interns will be provided with:

  • Operations Experience

  • Executive Exposure

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
