Job Overview

This job involves safely setting up and operating plastic extrusion equipment to make custom and complex medical tubing.

Responsibilities:


Operate Equipment: Start and run the extrusion machines following approved settings for each product.
Adjust Tooling: Modify tools as needed to meet product specifications.
Control Parameters: Fine-tune processing settings within approved limits to maintain product quality.
Inspect Products: Check products using approved methods and equipment to ensure they meet standards.
Package Products: Collect, package, and deliver products according to approved standards and work orders.
Monitor Machines: Watch machine operations to detect defects or malfunctions.
Measure Accuracy: Use dies, gauges, and vision systems to check the accuracy of machine operations.
Perform Maintenance: Do minor maintenance like oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
Complete Paperwork: Fill out and submit all required paperwork or electronic data entries.
Clean Up: Purge, shut down, and clean equipment following approved methods, and remove tooling for the next work order.
Training and Support: Learn new operations, run new part numbers, and assist extrusion lines as needed.
Document Updates: Update extrusion documents as necessary.
R&D Support: Assist in R&D builds and provide feedback on tools, equipment, dimensions, and issues.
Problem Solving: Work with supervisors and management to address and resolve problems or complaints.
Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and policies, and promote safety adherence across all operations.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives to improve production operations and processes.
Company Policies: Positively support the company’s policies and procedures.
Workplace Conduct: Show personal accountability, resolve conflicts, collaborate well, be flexible, and promote a respectful workplace.

Schedule:

3rd Shift, 10 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday to Friday with 15% shift differential Shift Differential.

What your background should look like:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 4 years of experience in Manufacturing with an AA degree or 6 years with a H.S degree, including a minimum of 1 year in Thermoplastic Extrusion.

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. 
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct extrusion experience required.
  • Basic computer skills.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $31.04 to $46.56 per hour with an added 15% shift differential (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
