The UI core team at Okta is responsible for building and maintaining reusable components and tools that facilitate developers at Okta to create responsive, accessible User Interfaces per the design standards at a fast pace. The UI community at Okta is very collaborative and UI core is the primary facilitator here. We are looking for a seasoned and enthusiastic UI developer to join our team, foster collaboration and define a path forward to solve the challenging problems in the UI area at Okta.

Responsibilities:

• Developing the core UI framework which lays the foundation for UI development across all of the company’s engineering.
• Developing tools that improve UI development process and speed.
• Working with UX designers and UI engineers to recognize common patterns, styles and components. And move them to the framework so that the rest of the product teams can build elegant UI efficiently.
• Working with management and architects to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 8+ years UI software development experience
• Solid experience with Javascript and with one of the major Javascript MVC frameworks (Backbone, Angular, React, etc)
• Working experience with HTML and CSS including how to work around browser quirks
• Working experience with Java or other object-oriented programming language

Good grasp of software engineering designs, principles, and practices

Education and Training:

• B.S. Computer Science or related field
