Three months into his new role, Craig Bradshaw made a bold move. With conviction and clarity, he reshaped his leadership team to be 50% women, marking a historic first for Gold Fields globally. It wasn’t a statement. It was a strategy.
Craig’s journey into mining started over 30 years ago. A mining engineer by trade and a people-first leader by passion, he has spent his career balancing operations with values.

“What I love most is seeing what people can achieve together,” Craig shares.
That belief set the foundation for his transformative leadership approach when he joined Gold Fields’ Australian operations as Senior Vice President in 2024.
Turning belief into action
Since stepping into the role, Craig has championed systemic changes that put equity and inclusion at the forefront. His immediate restructuring of the Operational Leadership Team not only shifted gender balance, it signalled a deep cultural change.
Programs like the Respectful Workplace initiative and Women in Gold Fields Operations are more than policies. They are personally supported and modelled by Craig himself.

“Two of my four general managers are women. They’re driving results and inspiring the next generation,” he says proudly.

Leading with purpose
Craig’s leadership goes beyond numbers. His dedication to diversity stems from a fundamental belief in fairness and potential.

“For me, gender equity starts with a level playing field. That means access to the same opportunities, equal pay, and everyone being treated in the same way,” he explains.
It’s a philosophy that resonates throughout the business. From building genuine relationships with local communities to mentoring emerging leaders, Craig’s actions reflect Gold Fields’s purpose—to create enduring value beyond mining.
Standing out from the status quo
Many companies talk about diversity. Few leaders act with the urgency and impact Craig has shown. Instead of waiting for perfect conditions, he created them, demonstrating that leadership is not just about operational outcomes but who gets to shape them.
His focus on safety, inclusion, and shared growth sets a new benchmark for the industry.
What could one bold step change for you?
Craig’s story is a reminder that courageous leadership opens doors for others. If you’re ready to take your next step in a company that values inclusion, growth and bold action—Gold Fields could be your place.
