The opportunity:
Active Tree Services is looking to invest in your career in the Arboriculture industry. You will start by learning how to place cut branches safely through our variety of Bandit Wood Chippers. You will work in a small crew, rotating throughout the day between duties such as chipping vegetation, safety observing, setting up a safe worksite, site clean-up and ground cutting using a chainsaw.
You will have a can-do attitude, want to work outdoors despite the weather and have a willingness to learn and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into hard physical work.

In your first 12 to 24 months, you will gain:
- Truck Licence – Active will assist with obtaining
- Senior First Aid & CPR
- Work Zone Traffic Management
- Chainsaw operation qualification
- High Risk Elevated Work Platform 11m above License
- Certificate II Powerline Vegetation Control
- Close Approach Vegetation Clearance
- Working safely near live electrical apparatus
- On the job training with experienced Arborists
You will learn:
- Woodchipper Inductions, Maintenance & Operations
- Site set up and clean up
- Traffic Control
- How to complete daily inspections and report faults
- Ground base chainsaw cutting
- Elevated Work Platform operation
- Learn Safe Approach distances
- Saw Maintenance
- Truck driving
- Tree trimming from Elevated Work Platform
- Exposure to Climbing crews and specialised machinery
What’s on offer:
- Full time permanent role with job security
- 8-hour shift from 7.00am to 3.30pm
- $26 to $30 an hour + superannuation + daily travel allowance and the opportunity for overtime
