About Controllership

Controllership partners with all business units and staff groups across the organisation to ensure financial integrity, a strong control environment and enhance shareholder value by delivering financial accounting, reporting, compliance, planning and advisory services.

An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated and quick-learning Financial Analyst to join a collaborative team where your growth/development will be supported. The Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the Controllership Finance team and is responsible for the business’ month close process. The successful candidate will need to understand the linkages between key performance indicators and business results, while translating these movements into meaningful analysis. The work prepared by the candidate feeds into and generates several different internal and external reporting submissions, all with strong relevance into providing the region with a snapshot of local business results.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare regulatory reports according to guidelines & legislation from regulators.
  • Review monthly results to provide variance analysis and logic of spreadsheets
  • Manage the chart of accounts and responsibility centre structure
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Provide regulatory report support on projects related to key business and financial initiatives
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the leader
  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend and implement enhancements as necessary
  • Analyse data, employ diverse methodologies to interpret results, and offer crucial insights, data transformation strategies, and evaluate data integrity
  • Develop strategies aimed at enhancing both data accuracy and operational effectiveness within the business
  • Identify and define avenues for process improvement within the acquisition, administration, and uplift of enterprise data

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong financial, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be flexible, proactive and able to work autonomously and provide accurate updates to management as needed
  • A good understanding of US GAAP and Australian accounting policies are essential
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in managing and upkeeping reporting solutions in Power Query for regulatory submissions
  • Extensive and demonstrated expertise in analytics/technology evolution
  • Interest in advanced analytics (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) , reporting and AI
  • Understanding of and exposure to APRA and RBA reporting regulations
  • Strong understanding of Power query, SQL, Python, and business automation is preferred
